Nintendo's Ethics

Nintendo recognizes how important it is to do business in an ethical environment that benefits those who are inside and outside the company: consumers, employees, partners, shareholders and society in general. That is why Nintendo created certain procedures to reassure that the company (insiders) is running under ethical principles that generate a good environment for their members. First of all, the "Execution and supervision of tasks," in which Directors are trained to be individuals who know the business, develop decision-making skills and supervise task execution. The purpose of this principle is the achievement of prompt and effective decision-making.  Secondly, "Audits." Implanted by the Board of Auditors (5 members, 3 outside auditors), the Office of Auditors, and the Internal Auditing Department. Their mission is to control the well functioning of all the departments, as well as to report auditing plans and auditing reports. The third principle is about the "Internal control." This one is executed by the "Internal Control System Committee," which is presided by the President, and its purpose is to examine and enhance the procedures that are implemented in the company. Finally, the Group-wide governance, is in charge to promote positive communication, while supporting leadership and cooperation among the company.

Nintendo also hopes to maintain consumers trust (outsiders). Compliance with the customer is crucial. Therefore Nintendo have created a "Compliance Committee" in each country, to create policies and designate managers according to the need of and specific location. The company also counts with a "Global Compliance Committee" that shares information and opinions of different experiences in different countries.
Privacy management is another of the main concerns of the company. Nintendo developed a strict training for its employees in the correct and specific handling of the consumers' personal information.
