In 2008 their revenue was approximately of 19.7 billion USD according to Nintendo's Earnings release of March 31st 2009.
The notorious success of the company continues with a stable performance in the video game market. In contrast to its biggest competition, Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo's only products are video games.
Nintendo's latest console, the Wii, has managed to largely outsell its competitors, XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 in every major territory. Along with the Wii, the Nintendo DS is currently the best-selling video game platform in the world.
In November 2008, the company launched the third generation of the Nintendo DS handheld gaming console called Nintendo DSi, which includes two cameras that add a more interactive feature to certain games, and the option to buy games directly via download.
