In 2007, Nintendo of America and Six Flags made a marketing agreement, in which the Wii console would be the official video game system of selected parks. Six Flags agreed to settle several consoles in a video-gaming station called the WiiSpot. In there, their audience is able to complementary play the successful gaming-system in their theme parks. On the other hand, Nintendo would have on their website consumer sales promotions - aka sweepstakes - for Six Flags.
The sponsorship has been so successful since then, that the companies still work together. As proof of their relationship commitment, Nintendo released in March the "Six Flags Fun Park" video-game for the Wii. In this particular game the audience can now bring the theme park home, giving the option to enjoy the park and the video-games from home or in the theme park.
Both the President of Six flags, Mark Shapiro, and the President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, have expressed their satisfaction with the marketing agreement. Shapiro, mention that it is crucial for Six Flags to maintain strong relationships with a company that has a major impact in the lives of today's families.
